Frequently Asked Questions

01What is TAG?

TAG is an eco-friendly, social technology platform that connects people driving their own car with an empty seat to passengers who want to go the same way. People using TAG are no different from two travel companions heading to the same place: you match with another TAG user on your route through the app, a driver going your way drops you at your destination, and you share a small amount towards the cost of the trip. TAG takes no commission on this ride sharing. TAG was built so that each car carries as many people as possible, reducing the number of vehicles in traffic.

02How do I use TAG?

Select the TAG tab in the app, set your route and tap “Call a shared car” to place your ride request. The contribution is based on what people who have travelled in that area before agreed on, for the vehicle type and distance you choose. You can raise or lower it if you like.

03How is the fare calculated?

A suggested amount is set from what people who have travelled in that area before agreed on, for the vehicle type and distance chosen. The passenger can raise or lower the suggested amount. If a driver accepts the offer the passenger freely makes, the match is made. The driver cannot ask the passenger for any other fee.

Tolls charged to the vehicle during the trip for the Bosphorus bridges, motorways, the Eurasia Tunnel and the Osmangazi Bridge are added to the fare automatically. The Northern Marmara Motorway is not included.
